“ Cute bar with a side entrance as well as a hidden entrance in the Maison hotel. Drinks were creative and tasty. The interior design is interesting and a good conversation starter. ”
“ Another quaint yet dope spot to hangout with friends and try some drinks made by mixologist. Very creative. Cozy atmosphere. Seating very comfortable. Staff very nice and accommodating. ”
“ Bar Metier in New Orleans is an alluring, hidden gem tucked away behind a bookcase entrance. Stepping through the covert doorway, you step into a different world of a deep red seductive glow across the space. The ambiance is intimate and has a classic speakeasy vibe. Their Old Fashioned was smooth with just the right hint of sweetness. A timeless drink for a timeless bar. Bar Metier exudes a sexy, alluring energy that’s hard to resist. Perfect for a date night or anyone looking to escape into a moody, vintage-inspired atmosphere. ”
“ (I didn't get to try to food options, so I left the food rating intentionally blank). This is an amazing bar that is tucked down a narrow alley next to a hotel. Keep in mind this is a "seated-only establishment", which means everyone gets a seat and is served by the waitstaff, even just for drinks. During busy times, you will probably have to get on the waitlist if you don't have reservations. The ambiance alone is worth a visit. The place has moody speakeasy vibes with dim lighting, classy decor, and upscale furniture. The drinks were delicious, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, I didn't get any of the small plates on the menu, as I arrived right as food service was ending (kitchen closes at 10:30pm). But the food options looked enticing, and if it's as good as the drinks, I would go for it. This is one of the best bars I have been to in years, so I highly recommend if you're looking for a unique experience. ”
“ What a cozy little spot tucked away by Maison Metier. We randomly found this spot while walking through the area one night and saw a small alleyway with the name Salon Salon. The following day we were at Carousel Bar chatting with the bartender, Corey, who highly recommended visiting this place, previously known as Bar Marilou. We had reservations when we finally went around 6 in the evening on a weeknight, but it didn’t seem necessary as there were still a lot of open seats. There was live music, but it was at just the perfect volume where we were able to enjoy it but didn’t need to try hard to hear each other chat. In fact, I could hear all the conversations at the next table. The drinks were reasonably priced and made well. We ordered a Barbara Spritz, Vieux Carre, and Boulevardier. The same drinks were more affordable here than Carousel Bar, but at the same time didn’t quite punch as hard which isn’t a bad thing in this ambiance. We weren’t hungry, but wanted to try some food, and had the Pommes Pave which came with fresh creme and caviar - very crispy and surprisingly light. The crowd at this establishment was pretty diverse. There were middle aged folks on one side of us chatting about work and personal lives, and young couples on the other side of us perhaps on a first date. We are sure glad we found this spot and will return next time in NOLA. ”
“ We went to many bars in the area this trip and Bar Marilou was hands-down the best. Their cocktails are very clearly custom made house recipes with top-notch ingredients — you won’t find these drinks anywhere else. We tried 5 different ones and were extremely happy with them all, and they were very reasonably priced too (it’s outside the tourist district). Very comfortable ambiance with a casual library vibe and lots of candles. The staff were also just as amazing, especially Hunter, and Megan made us a custom drink that was truly exceptional. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town! ”
“ Very good craftted cocktails, and the truffle fries are excellent. The service was very pleasant, a good spot before going for dinner or after. ”
“ Phenomenal dinner here. The vibe was immaculate, almost like a tucked away speak-easy feel but with a super classy twist. The servers could not have been kinder and Tri was absolutely lovely! The fry bread, Brussels, goat cheese salad (there are fried cheese balls in the salad that are to die for), and Brussels were all out of this world. My server also recommended the butterfly house cocktail which was delish!! Got the toffee carrot cake to go which was a scrumptious treat. Would absolutely go back in a heart beat ”
